Time to Breathe

Hey all!  So midterms are finally behind you and it’s Halloween. Time to reward yourself for making it through half of your first semester. Busy as you may be, sometimes it is good to relax and have some fun to avoid burning out before finals. What a better way to have fun than Halloween.  Now you may be wondering what you can do for Halloween with you both not being a kid anymore and not at home anymore. In reality though we are still kids (maybe a bit taller and independent) and college is about new starts and traditions. This doesn’t just mean going downtown dressed as a “sexy nurse” or “hunky fireman” though. Connecticut is a beautiful place in the fall. There’s pumpkin picking, corn mazes, haunted houses, and even events on campus. Just keep an eye on your e-mails for trips or events, or even plan your own trip with friends. Just because you are in college doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun this time of year. Also, Halloween isn’t just one night of the year anymore. Events go on the week before and after so keep a close eye out for e-mails and flyers around campus. If you haven’t already, also add pages like SCOPE on Facebook to help keep you up to date with some of the bigger events on campus. You made it this far, now time to stop and admire the Jack-O-Lanterns!

Megan Penney is a Junior Criminal Justice Investigative Services major. Besides just being a first year mentor, she is involved with other clubs like Pride, Roteract, and ACJA. One fun fact about Megan is that she is a Security guard at the local mall!
