Fountain of Hot Water on the Cours Miraeau, Aix-en-Provence

The students have arrived!

After an initial open house and orientation at the IAU, the 8 Interior Design students are settling in with their host families and house mates, acclimating to the Provencal culture, and exploring Aix-en-Provence on foot. A charming and historically significant city, Aix was founded by the Romans on top of a natural spring in 123BC.  The historic downtown is a tangle of semi-pedestrian streets that intersect at cobblestone squares populated with fountains, cafes, and restaurants. The cafes are teeming with students, both local and from abroad, offering many opportunities to engage with nationalities from all over the world. But tonight, I hope that the students are all resting up.

Classes begin tomorrow!
